My acne is really bad. How can I help?

I'm so unhappy. My acne keeps getting worse. I went to the dermatologist and he prescribed me a bunch of stuff on Monday. Now it's Friday night and my acne has only gotten worse! It's all around my cheeks, mouth nose, and some on my forehead. My acne isn't elevated off my skin really any (if you felt across my face you'd hardly feel any bumps) but they are average size in diameter and very red. It's really gross and I don't know how I'm going to go back to school on Monday. I'd rather kill myself then go back to school. Please help, all I really need is to reduce redness. Everything I've tried isn't working. And I'm doing what the dermatologist told me to do, but I don't see a difference. All I want is it to be less red :(My acne is really bad. How can I help?
i think i have the same problem as you :O :(My acne is really bad. How can I help?
Time is the only thing that can reduce the redness. My doc used to tell me that I could use the meds every OTHER day if I was experiencing any redness.

Call the doc back up and tell him your situation.
JUST WAIT...BE PATIENT
I learned years ago that peanut butter made me have acne something awful. Even into my thirties. Same for my kids and a nephew. No peanut butter. No acne. It may not be the same thing for you but you should keep a food diary. See if you can find a link to your acne and what your eating. It can take a couple of days after eating something before you break out. Try eliminating dairy and sugar. These can be problematic for some people. Ask your dr. if you can take flax oil. It's good for the skin. And zinc. Aids in healing and may help to prevent scarring. Good luck.
you've only been on the medicines for like a week. they will take several months to work. just use them consistently every day.
lol i'd laugh at u if i saw u in school
A lot of acne can result if your diet consists of a lot of junk food. change your diet, see if that helps.
well, at first, just wash your face with soap and water and let it dry. don't use towel, just let it dry. oh! use warm water. then, avoid touching your face especially when your hands are dirty. avoid pollutions such as smokes coming from vehicles, dusts, etc. don't go back to your old dermatologist. look for another. he might give you a soap that dries pimples, an acne-clear lotion and an oil-free cream(these products helped me a lot).
What the skin needs is a treatment that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.

Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

MY ACNE GOT REALLY!!!BAD!!! WHAT CAN I USE??!!?
Often fewer products are better. People often make their acne worse by using too many products. There is no quick fix for acne. Your doctor may recommend some prescription medication. Keep your face very clean. Drink plenty of water. Eat a nutritious diet and get enough sleep. Try to reduce the stress in your life. Probably the most useful and effective things you can do are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer. Here are a few informative links with additional home treatment ideas.

MY ACNE GOT REALLY!!!BAD!!! WHAT CAN I USE??!!?
The best you can do is wash your face 4 times a day with a mild soap this one is so good i have been telling everyone about it. they sell at Walmart in the hispanic section its called Grisi Soap 3 Manzanillas / Chamomile - Brings a fresh and soft sensation to the skin. and is for very sensitive skin. its only 99cents.
it really depends on the type of skin that you have. i've read a lot about acne since from time to time, i get some really bad ones. but what works for me is putting ice on the problem areas to reduce swelling and then using makeup to cover up the redness.

-- good luck to you. (:
Acne Free works for me, Proactiv didnt. It made it worse, but Acne Free made it better. Well the only thing that made it worse is the lotion, the last step. And so all i use now is the cleanser and toner and this gel that my doctor prescribed me.
The acne wonderdrug is ';acutane';

It must be prescribed by a Dermatologist

IT CLEARED MY HORRIBLE, MODERATE-TO SEVERE ACNE
Go try the first acne medicine your doctor gave you in 9th grade ! I understand you though, my acne's not that bad but sometimes it gets bad to a point where I don't want to leave my house. You need to figure out what causes your acne ! I found out that eating junk food and sleeping late makes me break out like crazy ! Almost like what you explained but better. Just watch what you eat make sure it's not greasy and get some sleep along with your medications ! Good luck ! Don't ever pop them because you will regret later on. It's better to have those nasty little things and be scar free later. Because with the acne you're describing, those could leave bad scars when messed with.

If you're desperate there are some home remedies that sometimes work or just depends on your skin. Either put classic toothpaste(regular plain ones) and put some on your skin. Or put some vinegar on a paper towel and leave it on your skin for a couple minutes.

You said that your acne cream gets worse before it gets better, I think it's best if you keep using it. I have acne cream like that and it seems to work fine.

use proactive. its the bestMy acnes are very old and bad and make blood under my skin.what is the best cure?
Sorry to hear that. Just let me say that if your looking for a cure for acne, you won't find it. A cure doesn't exist. When a friend of mine had acne, he went to a skin care clinic. They gave him a product called Dadashie. That stuff worked extremely well for him. Proactive only worked for about 2 weeks for him and then stopped. If you do end up going to a clinic, ask them if they use Dadashie. Here's the site:

If milk makes my acne worse will whey protien make my acne worse to?

will whey protien make my acne worse if milk does because i'm working out and i need more protien in my diet...If milk makes my acne worse will whey protien make my acne worse to?
You should be fine if you are taking a chemical free whey product minus the fillers and additives. Check the label of the whey protein to make sure it is pure! Good luckIf milk makes my acne worse will whey protien make my acne worse to?
How much protein do we need?

Our protein needs depend on our age, size, and activity level. The standard method used by nutritionists to estimate our minimum daily protein requirement is to multiply the body weight in kilograms by .8, or weight in pounds by .37. This is the number of grams of protein that should be the daily minimum. According to this method, a person weighing 150 lbs. should eat 55 grams of protein per day, a 200-pound person should get 74 grams, and a 250-pound person, 92 grams.

Is it OK to eat a lot more protein than the minimum recommendations?

This is the crucial question for people on diets which are higher in protein than usual, as low-carb diets tend to be. In a review of the research, the National Academy of Sciences reported that the only known danger from high protein diets is for individuals with kidney disease. After careful study, they recommend that 10 percent to 35 percent of daily calories come from protein. They point out that increased protein could be helpful in treating obesity. There is also accumulating evidence that extra protein may help prevent osteoporosis.

Extra protein can be broken down into glucose in a process called gluconeogenesis. On low carb diets, this happens continually. One benefit of obtaining glucose from protein is that it is absorbed into the bloodstream very slowly, so it doesn鈥檛 cause a rapid blood sugar increase.

What foods have the most protein?

Meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, legumes, and nuts all have substantial amounts of protein.

Acne sucks really bad!?

Ok, so I have really mild acne. It's nothing too serious. Besides my back. My hair covers it during the summer, which of course isn't healthy that I leave my hair down. But, it's embarrasing. I mean, of course, acne is embarrasing period. I have some blackheads on my boobs that aren't really noticeable. I was wondering if I should go on accutane for about 2 months or three? I've tried Proactive and it sucks. I'm trying Clean and Clear, and it's actually working a little. It's keeping my acne to where I don't really have any more popping up, even around my periods. But, I still have it on my face. Were gonna go to the doctor and see what he says. What do you think? Should I go on for a short amount of time.Acne sucks really bad!?
There is this new popular cream that people have been talking about.

It was even televised on TV.

It prevents future and existing acne, diminishes scars, and lightens skin and blemishes. Fast results too! (It's been claimed that major results can be seen within a week and no later than two weeks)

Before and After photos are available at the given ebay site.

This person is providing 1-3 week trial samples (Only for ONE DOLLAR.. definitely a deal) on ebay at:

Search up ';Cee En's Acne Solution'; or ';best acne solution ever'; on ebay.

First 100 customers can get the item for $1 for one week trial and up to 3 weeks. Or you can purchase 1 month supply for $40 or 6 month supply for $160

It's expensive, but the product DOES work.

My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream.

I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight.

I hope this helps. =)Acne sucks really bad!?
Go to a dermatoligist, its probably not a good idea to go on it unless you have severe acne, it is usually the last thing doctors tell you to do. I use st. ives acne and blackhead scrub on my mild acne and all over my face and back and it works great, you have to continually try something for about two months to tell if it works or not.

Hope you find something that works.
ya accutane especially for your back i kno how that can suck

Is egg bad for your skin? Especially if you have an acne-prone skin.?

There is a dairy link. What happens to be more of my trigger is milk and cheese. If I have a lot of those two dairy products in my diet, I am guaranteed to break out with massive cysts. Some researchers believe that acne is an over reactive inflammatory response. Dairy increases the inflammation somehow. I know for myself that this is true. It took about 2 - 3 weeks for me to see results but my acne has been reduced dramatically just by altering what I eat.Is egg bad for your skin? Especially if you have an acne-prone skin.?
No, eggs are not bad for your skin. Some recent research has indicated that milk (due to the growth hormones used to increase lactation in dairy cattle) might increase acne due to its potential affect on human hormones. There is also some research that a high sugar/carbohydrate/starch diet might contribute to acne. However, this does not include eggs. Even the research about avoiding eggs due to their cholesterol content has been called into question recently (as long as they are consumed in moderation). Is egg bad for your skin? Especially if you have an acne-prone skin.?
Eat Egg Whites instead of the whole egg for protein.

  • Acne has gotten bad. go to dermatologist or keep trying over the counter stuff?

Acne does not run in my family.

My sister has it bad on her back, but a few here and there on her face (shes 18)

i'm younger than her so it still might be a phase...but it has gotten so bad where my face is all red, bumpy, and oily. (i know, disgusting, sorry.)

I've tried alot of over the counter stuff, like:

    acne-free terminator

Clean and Clear creams and other topicals

    alot more..i just can't remember.

I've also used Proactiv, which worked really well for about 2 months...then all of the sudden it stopped working...i had more breakouts then usually and it just wasn't helping.

After i stopped using Proactiv because it didn't seem to be doing anything anymore, it just keeps on getting worse.

Now I'm using Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Kit...it's my second day using it and I've really haven't seen results. I know I should give it time, but do you think it's about time to give up and just see a dermatologist?

    please give your best opinion.

Will this ointment/cream make my acne worse?

I have mild acne but it doesn't take much for it to flare up. My doctor also recommended Cortaid for some skin irritation on my nose. Most of my acne is there. Usually I wash my face and put the ointment on my face before I go to bed. Will this worsen my acne? Will this ointment/cream make my acne worse?
    Hi Catherine,

I'm not sure about 'Cortiad' but here is some info on a more natural remedy:

The watery gel from Aloe Vera plant is a highly effective natural cure against Acne. The enzyme-rich gel has very soothing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It can also be taken internally and helps clean up and detox the digestive tract. This in turn can help clear up the skin.

Gel or juice of Aloe Vera is highly useful in fading of acne scars. You can grow Aloe Vera plant in your home and apply freshly taken pure Aloe Vera gel to your scar. Otherwise many branded cosmetic companies manufactures pure Aloe Vera gel, so you can choose the best cosmetic companies to get Aloe Vera gel.

Vitamin A is also a natural and effective Acne cure. Vitamin A promotes healthy skin.

Vitamin E also helps in countering Acne. It is a natural antioxidant and beneficial for the skin.

Tea Tree Oil is obtained from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree from Australia. It is very effective against Acne as it contains bacteria-fighting substances called Terpenes. Acne is often caused by bacteria and the Terpenes either outright kill them or weaken them enough to be destroyed by protective antibodies. There are very little side effects from using Tea Tree Oil.

Try this website http://www.trustwilliam.com/en-GB/Ingred鈥?/a> for 'Buy One Get One Half Price' with free delivery! They Supply 99.9% Pure Aloe Vera Gel with 'Vitamins A,C %26amp; E' and with 'Tea Tree'.

Hope this helps keep your acne %26amp; scars at bay!!Will this ointment/cream make my acne worse?
Stress levels, hormones %26amp; genetics can all contribute to acne development, so often times it takes more than a magic potion to get rid of it. Here are some natural remedies you can do at home that worked for me:

STOP eating and drinking foods with refined or artificial sugars, like high fructose corn syrup, crystalline fructose or aspartame/phenylalanine. Up your vitamins C, E, K %26amp; A; Omega-3's, antioxidants; Flax seed %26amp; extra-virgin olive %26amp; coconut oils: swallow a spoonful a day. Do some exercise like dancing or yoga. Get a little sun everyday, no more than 10 minutes if you have a light complexion. Drink more water. Try using witchazel as a toner during the day, and unfiltered apple cider vinegar at night.

A raw potato is cheap and brilliant acne natural cure, especially for whiteheads. The vitamin C makes your skin glow, and alkaline in the potato kills the bacteria on your face. The potato also has an exfoliating effect helping you to get rid of dead skin cells. Papaya fruit produces similar effect; you should also use it raw. (Make sure the potato isn't genetically modified!)

A wash of milk with lime is a great treatment for blackheads. First bring a glass of milk to a gentle boil, and then add juice from half a lime. When the milk cools down it makes a great face wash. You can store it in the fridge for a couple days. (Make sure the milk doesn't come from cattle that have been treated with rBGH)

Is it worth commiting suicide at 15 years old on acne, my dad says it aint bad but i think it is?

i want to know what age it will go, will i grow out of it , i dont want girls to see my spots when i move to america about 19............i just want to know the age it will go away.Is it worth commiting suicide at 15 years old on acne, my dad says it aint bad but i think it is?
Nothing is worth committing suicide at the age of 15, or any age! Teenage years are the worst, but you'll get through it. Hormones are raging causes all kinds of different emotions and teens are trying to figure out ';who they are'; and where they fit it.

I had HORRIBLE acne when I was 15. I tried several over the counter products and products I saw on TV, like proactive and NOTHING worked for me. I saw a dermatologist and got on Retin-A. Then I started receiving shots in my face. It was SO painful! After that I got on Accutane (a prescription drug). It worked wonders on my skin but had horrible side effects. If my mood swings weren't bad enough at 15, this made them twice as bad. People have tried and committed suicide on this medication. It is very powerful.

I'm 21 years old now and my acne is NOTHING like it was when I was 15. I get a pimple every now and then, but it goes away. Believe me, there are SO many things to look forward to and to do when you get a few years older! If I would have took my life when I was 15 I would have missed out on so many things and I would have hurt the people that truly love me, like my parents.

Don't do anything drastic like hurt yourself! Why don't you ask your parents to take you to a dermatologist and see what they suggest. There are all kinds of drugs and products out there for acne and that will help you! Good luck!

***Just a little FYI - the girl below me is wrong about Accutane. Accutane is NOT a high dose of vitamin A. In fact, a person is not suppose to take Vitamin A if they are taking Accutane because it could cause increased side effects. Accutane can cause severe birth defects if a woman becomes pregnant while on the medication- vitamin A does NOT do that.

http://health.yahoo.com/drug/d01245a1/;_鈥?/a>Is it worth commiting suicide at 15 years old on acne, my dad says it aint bad but i think it is?
Instead of worrying about it why not see your doc and get it treated. Acne is caused by the staph bacteria coming to fight off the dirt and oil clogging your pores. Ask your doc about antibiotic therapy if you acne is bad.
Committing suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Always remember that.

Acne at 15 is very normal. There are many different kinds of medication that you can get to help you deal with this. One of my sons took medication and the other did not.

Acne generally goes away by the age of 19 and dont worry about the girls, many of them have the same problem.

Speak to your doctor if you are very concerned, he may send you to a dermatologist for further treatment.

    Good Luck
No Honey, acne is certainly not worth killing yourself over but I feel your pain.

Millions of teenagers (and some adults) across the world suffer from it so you are not alone.

Go and see a dermatologist, there is some really great treatments out there. You just might need antibiotics.

Or check out proactiv. Alot of people swear by that.

    Good Luck
this all depends on genetics, ask your dad when his acne went away, and check with other (genetically) close relatives to see when theirs went away and then the average of those should be close to the answer.
hey really dnt worry 2 much bout the acne. its not worth havin suicide thoughts over! spots r not worth loosing ur life over! there is plenty of treatment these days! jus make an appointment wid the doc or u can buy tons of products over the till. and if a girl really liked u i dnt think dat the spots would matter i mean ok maybe not evry1 gets acne but even girls get the odd spot! it doesnt stop guys from goin out wid dem! %26amp; DONT COMMIT SUICIDE! :)
Same with u partner. I just want to die now
Nothing in life is worth dying for. Just see a doctor and you'll be fine. :)
commiting suicide at 15!?!? NOW WAY! are you crazy?

they will go away with medicine! You have MUCH more life to live, dont waste it
totally NOT worth it ... my boyfriend had acne when he was younger(really bad) and still has a little bit every now and then... even with a few little spots on his face i still think he is the most beautiful person i have ever met. i adore him, and even though our realtionship is not based soley on looks, i AM in love with him %26amp; his face for that matter ... one day when you move here or even if your still over there, you will find some one who loves you romanticly, reguardless of what your outside apperance may be.

*** also keep in mind that your family loves you and would be absolutely heart broken if they lost you.

%26amp;%26amp; a small bump to most people isnt even noticeable... but to you at may seem like a giant mountain ... it's not ... keep that in mind.
hEY!! we have a similar pr0b except I would NEVER look 2 suicide as a s0lution!!! There are things that u can use 2 get rid of the prob. Suicide should never be a solution for nything! try proactive that has been workin' for me and I think it will for for u as well... PLEASE don't do nything to harm urself!!!
Some people have it for many years my brother has had it his whole life. He was put on Accutane last year and his acne is all gone now. It really works it will take a while but it does work. And no its not worth killing yourself. And in response to the answer abouve mine all Accutane is is a very high dose of vitamin A.

I have the worst acne. I feel so ugly and am worried when i leave the house. help!?

I already go to a dermatologist, but nothing works. none of my friends have acne and all look beautiful, so i feel really ugly. I feel like a loner who is a monster.I have the worst acne. I feel so ugly and am worried when i leave the house. help!?
well u have to give it some time but i tried everything and finally found something that works, i exfoliate my face with Apricot Scrub Skin Renewel once at night, then i use the 3 step AcneFree System morning and night which you can find at drugstores or target and fredmeyer, to make sure my skin doesnt get dried out from this i use Garnier Nutriste SPF 28 Anti-Sun Damage lotion morning and night (you have to make sure ur mosturizer is oil free)

    Other Ways to Help:

Drink LOTSSS of water its gr8 for the skin!

Wash pillow cases and sheets often

    Avoid touching your face

Cod Liver Oil (sounds nasty but it helps) 1 tablespoon a day

and have paitience :)I have the worst acne. I feel so ugly and am worried when i leave the house. help!?
i know exactly how you feel. i've had acne since middle school and now i'm going to be a senior in high school. my acne was mild in middle school and went to moderate in high school. I went to my doctor and tried a bunch of different antibiotics and creams and nothing would clear up the acne. during my junior year, i started getting cystic and nodular acne that became severe. it was so bad that it hurt when water hit my face in the shower and i would wake up with blood and pus stains on my sheets from tossing and turning in my sleep. at school i could barely talk to anyone because i felt so disgusting. there were maybe like ten other people in my entire school who had acne, and it wasn't anywhere as bad as mine. thank god my derm prescribed me accutane earlier this year. my face is almost clear now. i would definitely recommend that you ask your dermatologist about this medication if you have severe acne. if your acne isn't severe enough to get it, hormonal treatments are often effective when other things don't work. you could talk to your derm about a medication called spironolactone or try a birth control pill that is proven to help with acne. hang in there, i hope you can find something that can get you clear.
This honestly sounds like my life story.

Honestly I hate all the crap the derms prescribe, because NOTHING WORKS! I know- I've gone to like 3 over the years. That might not sound like a lot, but it's because they gave me stuff, I tried it for months, and then came back and gave them 1 more shot. Rinse and repeat, basically.

Some stuff would work partially, but would basically bleach my face. I finally realized that I was torturing my face, so I basically stopped everything (well, weaned myself off of it slowly) besides using CeraVe, which doesn't have salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in it, and using that like once every other day. Think about it- your back, arms, et.c don't need all those special washes, even though they get the occasional pimple (even though you don't notice, they do!)- your body takes care of it. When you wash your face with the stuff that takes the oil off, your body (a very smart machine, really) thinks 'crap! no more oil to protect the face, must produce a lot to help it!' and then your face gets oily. However, the medications kinda eff up your skin and doesn't allow it to be absorbed the way it's supposed to do naturally. So anyway, I use CeraVe because it respects the natural 'skin barrier'. My skin looks SO much healthier, NEVER too oily, NEVER too dry. I still have a little acne, but only what's normal for my age group. Also, you can't really see it because I've lost that all-over pale look and gained healthy skin tone. Even if you don't want to take this advice, though, I really recommend going to www.acne.org - a website where many people post logs of their regimens and how they worked out. I partially based mine off of the caveman regimen- or, the idea of it, anyway. That website really helped me find my way.

Just one more thing to think about- you say your friends all have perfect skin- they don't constantly wash, right? Nope. And because of that, their skin takes care of itself. Try this: don't wash your face for a whole day. I know it will probably feel greasy(sometimes this takes 2 days), but when you wake up the next morning it's magic- all the oil will have been absorbed into your skin. When that happens, DO NOT go back to using that stuff you were before! Try something like CeraVe, which only cleans and moisturizes rather than tears down the natural skin barrier.

Also (I'm sorry I keep adding more, lol), have you noticed that when you're on anything with salicylic acid and/or benzoyl peroxide in it your face gets sun burnt really easily? Yep, that's because your natural skin barrier isn't there to protect it. Whatever you do, I wish you luck, and again, DEFINITELY visit acne.org and look at the Personal Regimen section (I reccommend holistic)

It's expensive, but the product DOES work

My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give

it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream.

I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who

has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight.

    I hope this helps. =)
I'm sorry to hear that you have such a bad skin problem. i have acne issues too. they use to be really bad when i was just out of high school. You have to remember right now it's summer so your skin is gonna be very oily.I break out way worse in the summer then in the winter.

When buy stuff for my skin i alway make sure i use more than one acne fighter.I use St. Ivys Apricot scrub bor acne, Oxy triple clean and stridex max pads. it really works. you should also use a clay mask. i like Fresh Umbrian clay mask. it's $45 but it is worth it. i also use a blackhead removing tool that gets rid of black heads and pimples before they come to the surface. For scars i use Mederma 3 times a day.

You might want to try getting a facial from a professional. they can be costly $60- $100, but it is worth it if it works for you. After the first 2 days your skin will look horrible but after that first 2 days with use of a good anti-acne trreatment you will lock like a million bucks.
I know exactly how you feel! I use to be in the same situation as you.

Here's my story: I have had horrible acne ever since 5th grade. I constantly had pimples on my forehead and when I went into 7th grade, pimples on my (face)cheeks started to appear! Of course, all my friends had nice clear skin, and since I never had a lot of boyfriends all the time like my friends did, I felt worthless and depressed. Near the end of 8th grade, my mom finally took me to the dermatologist. My face has now finally cleared up and it is pretty much flawless. If you stick to a face routine with the products that your derm. prescribed you, your face will definitely clear up.

I know it is hard right now to feel confident, but don't let some stupid little thing like acne bring you down. Pretend you don't have acne! Don't be afraid to stand out. If you laugh, smile, and be your self around others, they wont care about your acne. Even with acne, your friends are still your friends, so other people will accept you as well. Don't be jealous of other people, make them jealous of you! And if anyone makes fun of you because of your acne, you can just say ';do you think I care?'; or say ';later, hater'; and simply walk away.
i had really bad acne to i tried everything and anything that the doctor would give me i even tried going on birt control pills but nothing ever worked but then my hairdresser told me to try this stuff called mint julup im not sure if that is the excat spelling haha but close to it and all u do it rub it on ur bad spots and leave it on over night or atleast untill it drys and it cleard my face up right away. And as for the looking ugly part dont think that ur beautiful no matter what ppl say its not about what u look like its about who u really are

    hope i helped u =]
    Oh!

Well me and my brother use this product called Stridex!

Its comes in a little plastic jar! You can buy it almost anywhere!

    Walmart, Target, CVS, etc...

It has little face pads on the inside which you use to wash your face!

    You dont rinse it...

Then there is an unscrewable smaller lid on the cap which has gel in it

that you put on direct pimples!

It comes in different strengths for how bad your skin is!

    It works great!

    Clearasil didnt work at all.

    Never tried Proactiv.

    And as for anything else?

    I have no clue!

    But i hope this helped(:

My secret weapon for acne/acne scars/blemishes is turmeric powder (found in your grocery's spice aisle). Results in just under a week!

    QUICK AND EASY

    - Turmeric powder

    - Mix 1 or 2 tablespoon with warm water

    - Stir to form a paste

    - Apply daily or as needed
What helps me the most is plain Dove soap. It has a very low formula and doesn't irritate skin!
you need a nice and potent boyfriend who can help u with man juice

for your acne not an old wives tale it works
Ask your doctor about Benza Clin. It's freaking annoying to put on, but it helps your skin. It smells, and you have to wait about 10 minutes until it drys to put on lotion but I put up with it because it completely works.

    http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii167鈥?/a>

I don't have the most perfect skin in the world, but i would say it's pretty clear now. Before benza clin, i was embarrassed to talk to my friends. I hate that feeling when you know they are looking at your acne, but they are trying not to make it obvious.

There is also another treatment. I don't know what it is called but it is a pill you eat. Ask your doctor about it.

    EDIT

I don't know if this is a pity question, but I was looking at your other questions (sorry for the stalker-like behavior) about your looks, and your acne is not even that bad.

What can od madicine their is for acne i have it really bad?

If you have cystic acne (pustules, etc.), you MUST see a doctor to get it under control.

For general acne, I really like an OTC medicine called ';Nature's Cure.'; It's slow-acting, so you'll have to wait about a month to see real results, but it's worked miracles for me, and if you stick with it, you'll only have VERY occasional breakouts. The pills are tasteless, and it comes with a cream that will really dry up oily skin (I can't use it because it's too strong for me). It's also really cheap -- about $10 per month. And you can find it at most pharmacies or drugstores.

My roommate, however, swears by Proactiv, that stuff they sell on TV. I don't know much about it, but it's apparently pretty pricey.

Good luck! What can od madicine their is for acne i have it really bad?
I take Stem Enhance, it does wonders for my skin. check it out at www.normap.stemtechhealth.comWhat can od madicine their is for acne i have it really bad?
proactive they sell it at all the malls, its the best thing, because if you go to a dermatologist they will give you the same thing, (different name) but if you have insurance go to the doctor and get it for free they will give to you even if you only have a smalll amount of acne.
go see a dermatologest... i have always had problams with acne and stuff. and i use sea breeze and face wash. get the stuff for oily skin. that should work but if its to bad u may need to see a doctor for it

They dont look good on anyone, but I think its more acceptable for men to have them, they can cover some with facial hair.Do Acne Scars look worse on a Guy or A Women?
Well, just the simple words ';acne scars'; sound horrible and unattractive, regardless of wether you see them on a man or a woman!!! However, I do think that us girls are a bit luckier because we can cover them up with makeup. Ugghhh... how I hate acne and the scars they leave behind!!!! Wouldn't it be great if there were no such thing as acne...???
    of course a woman
both.. usually look worse to the guy
Well, anyone. girls usually cover them up with makeup but boys have nothing. So i probably would say guys.
Yep a woman. Guys aren't that really obsessed with their looks as much as females are. Just think, who spend more time in the bathroom doing their hair and makeup? And who is usually the one who freaks out over a zit or worse a zit scar? Females. No offense since I'm female, too. But that's just my opinion.
    I don't know.

I think it would be equal between them. Have you ever heard a girl say ';yeah.. I think these acne scars make me look good?'; No.. I haven't. So..

but if you put it that way. I would say a girl. Not b/c Im a girl, but b/c were so ( well some of us anyway) hygenic.

Acne does not clear up as you age. You need change your eating habits. Too much iodine (salt in foods) will cause flare ups. Hard candy is enuff to trigger acne. Milk might be a culprit for some.

Pointer: To clear up skin faster when you experience acne, eat apples they are good for the facial skin and drink water for a day or two. It helps diminish them.Acne???? i went to mt derm... and she dave me duac cream dident give me oral mendic becouse my acne is not bad

I would suggest doing some research online to try and find new products you haven't tried before. Also, try looking into products that have good reviews. How can you get rid of acne i have it really bad?
it might be in your genes...like if ur mom had it you do to.....dont worry it should go away when ur 30. but if you want it to go away now....visit a dermatologist....its the easiest way to figure out EXACTLy what you need..

orr, you could wash ur face with clean n clear 3 times a day, and apply clean and clear spot treatmen on the really big ones..that will help
Try going to a dermatologist. They will prescibe you medication and skin treatments to help it go away. Otherwise, you can try drugstore acne treatments.
Might sound crazy but it works. Spray starter fluid on your face lightly, then let it dry completely, after this wash your face with Lava bar soap. My grandpa let me in on this. Twice a day is all that is needed, in morning, then before bed. Just dont be around fire when you do this, it works serious!
You need to work from the inside and the outside. I used to be like you in the young days. Below are some ways I used.

    Outside :

    - keep your face clean and dry by washing frequently with acne soap, not normal soap

    - use mask every night on your face. I used cucumber mask. When using a new kind of mask, try a bit first to ensure your skin is not sensitive to the new mask.

    - Apply this medication called Isotrex. This medicine is better than other benzoyl peroxide acne medicine. You may need doctor prescription for this medicine.

    - Sweat it out. Exercise until you perspire. The seating helps to clean you skin. But don't exercise in the sun.

    Inside :

    - drink more orange/lemon/lime juice, ice lemon tea (don't drink this during your period or else you may have stomachache ).

    - cut down on soft drinks (because of high sugar content)

    - cut down on spicy and barbecue food

    - see a doctor for some oral medication if you want to heal fast.
    neutrogena complexion bar, excellent.
    - WASH YOUR FACE WITH A MILD SOAP, SUCH AS dOVE, OR ONE THAT CONTAINS BENZOYL PEROXIDE, SUCH AS oXY sENSITIVE. wASH AS OFTEN AS NECESSARY TO KEEP YOUR FACE CLEAN, BUT DO NOT SCRUB OR OVERDRY

    - while foods are no longer considered a significant cause of acne, eat a healthful diet and avoid any food that seems to cause pimples

    - cleanliness is essential

    - keep long hair off your face and shoulders, and wash it daily

    - don't squeeze pimples and blackheads. this can cause infection and scarring

    - controlling stress may help reduce acne flare ups

    - use only water based lotions and cosmetics that do not clog skin pores, and only if the don't aggrevate acne
try clean and clear. it works very well in my opinion and its over the counter. maybe around $6.
    good old witch hazel

Does sweets and chocolate actually make your acne worse?

There are many “myths” about acne regarding stress, diet, poor hygiene, and the use of cosmetics. Research has shown none of the following are correct. Years ago, we believed that a diet containing chocolate, sweets, fats and carbonated beverages contributed to acne. Research now shows that chocolate, sweets, fats and soda do not affect acne.

Many people associate acne with poor hygiene, when in fact, frequent or harsh washing of the skin may actually exacerbate the condition.

Some people think you should not wear makeup if you have acne or that makeup causes acne. Short-term use of makeup appears to be relatively harmless. However, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, and nonirritating makeup is recommended.Does sweets and chocolate actually make your acne worse?
it doesn't mine, but it does my brother's. i guess it depends on the person.Does sweets and chocolate actually make your acne worse?
There is a large debate on this - why not make a journal about your foods/acne and stress - and see if it does affect you -

I believe to a degree we are what we eat but I also believe it's caused more by hormones, oil, and hygiene and stress.
yes. Its the sugar that makes it bad. Everytime I eat too much sugar my face breaks out.....everytime.
Dark Chocolate is actually good for you. ( in moderation )
in most cases, yes. But sometimes it does nothing to your skin.

use queen helene original mint julep masque. it contains sulfur so it dries up and gets rid of acne plus blackheads. and it is a well-loved, very popular mask that has been used for decades!

buy it for $2-3 at target, walmart, walgreens, just about any drugstores. it is huge and will last u forever so u wont have to keep buying more and more.

use the mask only 2-3 times a week and this should solve ur problem.

hope this help and good luck! :]
aw why not? proactive is amazing :) but theres this mask its called like queen helene mint and u can get it at most drugstores and u put it on ur acne before u go to sleep and let it dry and in the morning its A LOT smaller. also neutrogena rapid clear face wash is really good too.

Did your acne get better or worse during pregnancy?

Which trimester was the best/worst and what did you use to treat it?Did your acne get better or worse during pregnancy?
Before I got pregnant I was having a lot of break outs, but now my skin is pretty clear.Did your acne get better or worse during pregnancy?
Ive never had spots before but since pregnancy my chest is covered in them,im in my second trimester and just hope it clears up soon?
better with the first the whole pregnancy worse with the 2nd the whole pregnancy
Now that i am pregnant i can't use any products on my face like lotions or acne products because i break out really bad or my skin gets blotchy. I noticed during the second trimester and now i'm beginning my third.
Mine's been different for both my pregnancies. With the first my skin was flawless throughout... but with this one my normally smooth skin became a disaster zone (probably since about 8 weeks or so). I'm 16 weeks now and it's still covered in little bumps.... but I'm hoping it gets better as time passes. I've been using Proactiv for about 5 years (which I LOVE), and I'm not good about doing it twice a day like I should. If I really dedicated to trying to work on my skin I'd probably have better results...
my acne, which i've tried everything for, has completely gone away during 1st trimester
The end of my first trimester/beginning of second was when acne was worse for me..i used noxema but it didn't really help much. It will get better though, i'm hardly getting any acne now in third trimester.
Mine got bad around the beginning of the second trimester and started to clear during the third.
I wish you well in whatever choice that you make. My son had acne and I do know the distress that it can bring. Not to be taken lightly.

I also agree that you should see a dermatologist. I suggest that as welll as clearpores, you do have a look at the exposed acne product.

Also ensure that you check your diet to ensure that you are eating plenty of vegetables and fruit and also a simple tip to implement is to drink plenty of water each day.

    Good luck with your decision
I used to have really good skin. Now its worse than it was even when i was a teenager :(
    Mine got better actually...
Worse I never had it until the second tri. and I can't get rid of it people can't really tell though
I never really had a problem with acne...I was fortunate I guess. With my baby I've gotten it on my back! I don't even understand. Started right away. I randomly will get one on my chest but its crazy on my back...yuck! Having a girl and they say girls steal your beauty so if thats the worst to come...well I guess I won't complain :-)
    It depends.

Some women don't have skin problems when they are pregnant,

but others get it worse since your hormones are

so whacked out that it comes out in your skin.

    It's normal.

** it is not reall bad but noticiable... i shaved a part of it and acne showed up i dont know if it is an alergic reaction or what....Is acne around my vigina bad?
It could be ingrown hairs or it could be mild acne from razor irritation. Most likely it will not happen again, or not many times after future shaving, as your skin gets used to being shaved. If it really bothers you, dab some with hazel onto the acne with a cotton ball and it should help clear it up quickly. Is acne around my vigina bad?
    Its probably ingrown hairs.

Thats a sensitive area, shaving can and will give the * small bump acne look*

    Its harmless.

I believe there are a few topical applications that fix this one.

Look at your local rite aid or similar drug store.
Doesn't sound like acne. Probably just ingrown hairs, but if you that concerned always call you doctor.

not acne, if you had acne you would prolly have like herpes
that's frkn nasty. u should ask a doctor instead of asking on yahoo answers.

Apparently if you keep shaving it goes away.

    Google ';shaving rash'; :)

its the shaving, waxing is much better
Are you sure its acne and not ingrown hairs or something? Cuz if its acne you should tell a doctor.

They have to potential to, however don't use them daily. Use them maybe once or twice a month. This is because the ';scrubbing'; can irritate your pores as well as over excite your pores/glands. Hence, causing more acne to occur.Exfoliating glove going to make acne worse?

What is meaning of acne? It is feeling bad ? or it well hurt you ?

    Pleace good answer for me

because I'm a studentWhat is meaning of acne? It is feeling bad ? or it well hurt you ?
    What Is Acne?

Acne is a disorder resulting from the action of hormones and other substances on the skin's oil glands (sebaceous glands) and hair follicles. These factors lead to plugged pores and outbreaks of lesions commonly called pimples or zits. Acne lesions usually occur on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders. Although acne is usually not a serious health threat, it can be a source of significant emotional distress. Severe acne can lead to permanent scarring.

    How Does Acne Develop?

Doctors describe acne as a disease of the pilosebaceous units (PSUs). Found over most of the body, PSUs consist of a sebaceous gland connected to a canal, called a follicle, that contains a fine hair (see ';Normal Pilosebaceous Unit'; diagram). These units are most numerous on the face, upper back, and chest. The sebaceous glands make an oily substance called sebum that normally empties onto the skin surface through the opening of the follicle, commonly called a pore. Cells called keratinocytes line the follicle.

The hair, sebum, and keratinocytes that fill the narrow follicle may produce a plug, which is an early sign of acne. The plug prevents sebum from reaching the surface of the skin through a pore. The mixture of oil and cells allows bacteria Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) that normally live on the skin to grow in the plugged follicles. These bacteria produce chemicals and enzymes and attract white blood cells that cause inflammation. (Inflammation is a characteristic reaction of tissues to disease or injury and is marked by four signs: swelling, redness, heat, and pain.) When the wall of the plugged follicle breaks down, it spills everything into the nearby skin 鈥?sebum, shed skin cells, and bacteria 鈥?leading to lesions or pimples.

People with acne frequently have a variety of lesions, some of which are shown in the diagrams below. The basic acne lesion, called the comedo (KOM-e-do), is simply an enlarged and plugged hair follicle. If the plugged follicle, or comedo, stays beneath the skin, it is called a closed comedo and produces a white bump called a whitehead. A comedo that reaches the surface of the skin and opens up is called an open comedo or blackhead because it looks black on the skin's surface. This black discoloration is due to changes in sebum as it is exposed to air. It is not due to dirt. Both whiteheads and blackheads may stay in the skin for a long time.

Other troublesome acne lesions can develop, including the following:

*Papules 鈥?inflamed lesions that usually appear as small, pink bumps on the skin and can be tender to the touch

*Pustules (pimples) 鈥?papules topped by white or yellow pus-filled lesions that may be red at the base

*Nodules 鈥?large, painful, solid lesions that are lodged deep within the skin

*Cysts 鈥?deep, painful, pus-filled lesions that can cause scarring.

    What Causes Acne?

The exact cause of acne is unknown, but doctors believe it results from several related factors. One important factor is an increase in hormones called androgens (male sex hormones). These increase in both boys and girls during puberty and cause the sebaceous glands to enlarge and make more sebum. Hormonal changes related to pregnancy or starting or stopping birth control pills can also cause acne.

Another factor is heredity or genetics. Researchers believe that the tendency to develop acne can be inherited from parents. For example, studies have shown that many school-age boys with acne have a family history of the disorder. Certain drugs, including androgens and lithium, are known to cause acne. Greasy cosmetics may alter the cells of the follicles and make them stick together, producing a plug.

Myths About the Causes of Acne

There are many myths about what causes acne. Chocolate and greasy foods are often blamed, but there is little evidence that foods have much effect on the development and course of acne in most people. Another common myth is that dirty skin causes acne; however, blackheads and other acne lesions are not caused by dirt. Stress doesn't cause acne, but research suggests that for people who have acne, stress can make it worse.

    Who Gets Acne?

People of all races and ages get acne. It is most common in adolescents and young adults. An estimated 80 percent of all people between the ages of 11 and 30 have acne outbreaks at some point. For most people, acne tends to go away by the time they reach their thirties; however, some people in their forties and fifties continue to have this skin problem. What is meaning of acne? It is feeling bad ? or it well hurt you ?
the dictionary meaning of acne is:a disease common in young ones in which red spots appear on the neck and on face.
no it doesnt hurt... it only means :

    1. not enough sleep

    2. staying too long in the sun( sweat will clog the poors)

    3. unbalanced diet

    4. ur period did not filter out completely

    5. allergies

it can b any of those reasons
Acne will hurt you because it looks bad. It is excessive bacteria in the blood and skin. To reduce the bacteria overall eat uncooked yogurt for two weeks. To help the skin use dish detergent to wash at night. Detergent kills more germs. And finally get some sulfur powder (farm supply) and put on the pillow. Don't open eyes. It stings but you can eat it .

I want to use this sunless tanning lotion facial lotion on my face but im worried that it might make my hyper-pigmentation (post acne marks) worse. Is this true? Will sunless tanning lotion make post acne marks worse?
Try Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer as far as getting a tan out of a bottle it is the most natural looking it is lotion with little self tanner in it but if you use it everyday for a week you will have a nice natural looking tan not that orange streaky fake tan. It will help even out your skin too they also make it in a firming lotion which i love.. im pretty skinny so i guess i dont need to ';firm'; but it makes my legs look even better!! good luck!!Will sunless tanning lotion make post acne marks worse?
No. It will not make your post acne marks worse. If you want to get rid of your ance marks, try Neutrogena Skin ID

Bad side effects with acne medication...?

Right now I am using minocycline with clindoxyl gel and Retin-A but I believe the clindoxyl gel and Retin-A is causing my skin to look tan (I rarely go in the sun).

If I go to the dermatologist would they have something that can prevent acne and not cause a tan look?Bad side effects with acne medication...?
Yeah you should probably go back and ask if there's any other medications. Although there should be. Ask for Benzaclin Topical Gel. That's what I'm using for my face and my skin doesn't turn tan at all. It also keeps my face clear and clean.Bad side effects with acne medication...?
If it isn't working for you go back and ask if there something else you can try.

Pimples is just another name for acne.
ni i dont think so i LOVE proactive
Most of the time pimples or acne comes from dirt %26amp; debris becoming trapped underneath the skin surface. This happens when dead skin cells literally grow over the dirt under there. It comes from improper cleansing, not exfoliating, yata yata... The secret to healthy skin is you have to cleanse, but the cleanser only removes 20 to 25 percent of the dirt %26amp; debris, the toner removes the other 75-80%... Then it is SO important to exfoliate with a mechanical scrub, %26amp; or a natural fruit enzyme chemical peel... You should then hydrate, but a good moisturizer is also important as it becomes the barrier to protect your skin from all of the free radicals... It also balances your skin out filling in the pores to help prevent make-up from getting into the pores, thus causing some of the problems... I know of a skin care line that I personally have been using for going on 4 years, %26amp; my skin has never looked better... It carries everything you need, %26amp; the price is very competitve with other brands, but what sets this product apart as it not only does all that I say it will, it heals your skin as it cleanses, tones, hydrates %26amp; moisturizes, as it features nature's own Aloe Vera %26amp; we all know the healing power of this wonderful plant....

    Good Luck!!

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

    %26lt;;%26gt;
no. inless you use too much.and yeah it will work for just pimples.
    Pimples are acne.
I thought pimples and acne were the same thing.
If it isn't too bad don't risk it. I had very mild acne, so mild it was barely considered acne. I'd just get flare-ups around that wonderful time of month. My mom bought me proactive and my face became severely inflamed within days. Ever since then my acne has been worse and more sensitive to basically everything.

If you're really worried, talk to your doctor. He/She will either recommend over the counter stuff to try or he/she will write you a prescription (note: with either it may take a few tries to find what's best for you). Also think back to the last time you were on any antibiotics. Did your face clear up while you were on them? It may sound odd, but I have bad sinuses and always have sinus infections. Well I got put on Augmentin, and my face cleared up while I was on it (didn't fix my sinuses... how odd is that?). So I mentioned this to my doctor and he put me on Duac, which is an acne gel that contains an antibiotic. It's worked better than anything else I've tried. (Note: I'm also currently using SalAc Wash, it's an over the counter product but it's kept in the pharmacy and it's around $15.00. I also use a moisturizer called Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer, which is also around $15.)

Speaking of Aveeno, there is a facial bar of theirs that I used for a few years that worked well . It's called Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleansing Bar. I believe it was $3 at Walmart.

My doctor also claims that diet has no effect on complexion. I don't believe him. My skin is much healthier and I get less pimples when I don't drink sodas, and don't eat fried foods. So think about if you notice your skin gets worse when you eat/drink certain things.
Proactive works well for a lot of people. But what work better is the following: Dont smoke. Wash your face with water. Don't use soap on your face, it clogs pores and get a little sun and keep a good pure moisturiser on hand if your skin is dry. Good luck!
I tried it for my minor blemishes. It dried out my face so bad that it actually made my acne worse! My little pimples turned into great BIG ones. Also, ';Dr. Murad'; acne treatments are terrible!

Before going to Poractiv, go to the Doctor. A dermatologist can prescribe Benezoid. A very strong but very reliable acne cream. You use a small amount and your pimples will go away. Use too much and your face will dry out! That is why you need a Doctor.

A hint: DO NOT POP YOUR ZITS! It only makes more. No, really it does.

    See your doctor First!
no unless you use too much or too often.
I use Proactiv and it works really good for me....It leaves it clean and smooth...especially if you use the facial mask it comes with...works great...
you do have acne. Pimples is acne. People get acne in different ways. And proactiv doesnt work for everyone. Personally i think it is a waist of money if your face is not an extreme case of acne. But if you want go ahead and try it.
Well, here are the pros and cons of Proactiv. It does help get rid of your blemishes pretty quickly, but it does absolutely nothing for redness left by them when they go. Also it will dry out your skin, and it's pretty expensive. But the number one reason I would not recommend Proactiv is that it works great when you're using it (aside from the dry dry dry skin) but as soon as you stop the little buggers come right back!
Yes there is proactive but it's expensive there is a product that you can get from walmart and it's $10 it's calledAcneFree and the product is called Terminator it's a powerful combination of Benzoyl Peroxide and complex blemish and blackhead fighting ingredients that work deep into pores to terminate bacteria for good! The results is pimple terminated overnight!!!!!!!!!
there is no help for you
It's a pretty gentle product. It worked for me.
It should work as long for the time period your using it.
I tried Proactiv and it worked for me, but then I discovered Oxy face wash (Wal-Mart) and it is way cheaper and actually worked better.
I was convinced by Proactiv Infomercial to use their product BUT it didn't work for me! From those 60 days that I have been using the product, there was no dramatic change in my face. Just dissapointments and frustrations. If it's not too bad go find cheaper ones like Loreal Purezone which is three times cheaper and It worked better than Proactiv.

And by the way Acne and Pimples are different. They kind of related but usually experts say ';Acne and Pimples'; not ';Acne or Pimples';.
    i thought pimples are acne
dont waste your money on proactive. All it does is dry out your skin. Try using Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser/Mask. Its only $12. Not as exy as proactive. Also, there are some really good home remedies you ca use to clear and prevent acne. Try putting lemon juice on pimples. They should clear up in 3-4 days. Also oranges, garlic, papya, and tomato juices should speed up healing process.
Yes you could use it if you want.
Proactiv is crap. Those infomercials are really all fake. I tried it already.. it made my pimples into acne! I mean i only had like 2 or 3 on my forehead.. and then when i started using it, everywhere broke out within days! I cannot believe it.. i was about to literally sue that company for false advertisement. But my uncle said they got this one licensed contract about ';individual results may vary'; deal. Anyways to make this shorter than it really is long, DONT GET IT. So yeah SPREAD THE WORD SO OTHERS WON'T BE FOOLED!
The only thing that'll work on your mug is a sand blaster
I get pimples once in a while. dont spend that much money on acne stuff sold on tv. go to the super store and get neutregena face cleanser or scrub, I like both.it works well for me.
no. i have used proactiv for so long, and i just have pimples but rarely anymore. its a miracle!!
i had pretty bad acne and i had tried everything... creams, face washes, pills, birth control... one day 6 months ago i just got fed up and decided to order some proactiv. i had heard some success stories from people i knew, plus those infomercials on tv really hook you. it has been the best thing i have done for my skin.

i find that a combination of proactiv and zapzyt (benzoyl peroxide cream 10%) works best for me. the proactiv took forever to start working (2 months). it didn't clear everything. so i added in using the zapzyt after the toner and before the lotion, and my skin has improved SO much. i still get pimples every now and then, but not nearly as much or as severe as i used to. i actually don't really mind the pimples i do get now, realizing that they are nothing compared to what i had.

looking back at pictures from 6 months ago, i can't believe how bad my skin was and how much it has improved! proactiv works the best for me. even though it's so expensive, i don't mind the price, because it's the only thing that HELPS. it won't work for everyone, and you may find that your skin gets worse before it gets better, but it's definitely worth a shot.

there may be a slight chance that your skin may become dry, but only because you say your acne isn't that bad.

PROACTIV is totally worth it (from my experience.)

    good luck!
Yes, I have used Proactiv before and I loved it. After about 1 or 2 weeks of using the product I saw an improvement in my skin and my pimples. If you use the product regularly your skin will stay clearer for longer. No, I don't think it would mess up, or irritate your skin unless you used it too often. It didn't irritate my skin when I used it. It's an easy three step system, so it doesn't take much time to apply. I hope you try Proactiv, because it really helped clear my skin and I think it can help you too. I hope this is helpful to you.

Would you go out with a person who had acne that really wasn't bad? Be honest.?

I want to know because I have acne, IT'S NOT BAD! And I have had only one boyfriend for a short period of time. I like flying solo, but I'd like company as well. So would you go out with someone who had acne that wasn't that bad?Would you go out with a person who had acne that really wasn't bad? Be honest.?
hi... first of all i don't like to make discrimination among people b'coz of their physical looks or anything. i try to behave fairly as much as possible by me coz i'm a human being not god.

%26amp; when it comes to dating then i will think twice (not abt her physical appearance or any acne)instead abt... whether she is the gal with whom i wanna spend my time? coz i don't believe in passing time %26amp; i don't even have any time to pass.

I would say yes if i loved her or if i wanted to go out with her.

Acnes %26amp; Physical appearance, as i have already mentioned, will never distract my decision.

at the end... wish u the very best of luck... :)Would you go out with a person who had acne that really wasn't bad? Be honest.?
I used to date the hottest guy at my high school, and even he had acne off and on. So did most everyone! Don't think about it so much, because trust me, everyone else is worrying about how THEY look. Have you tried getting on the pill? It's great for controlling your hormones, so less outbreaks!
I believe that each of us sees our own acne as much worse than others see it. I mean, when I look at someone and they have a zit, it's not a really big deal to me, even though my own zits bother me. So I figure that all of us are just walking around worrying about our zits so much when people aren't really noticing them.

Plus, a person's physical appearance shouldn't be the only factor that makes us decide whether or not to date them. Actually, I think it should be pretty low on the list.

So, to answer the question, sure I would.
yeah, i would. if you have a problem with your acne, and feel self concious, that might affect your personality. try to be more comfortable with yourself and then that will reflect upon your personality and hopefully you wont have a problem picking up guys.
Yeah, sure. It doesn't matter as long as you don't worry to much about it till your boyfriend thinks you're crazy
Yes i would cause i have acne and its not that bad
Heck yes. My girlfriend has a acne and it's just not a big deal. Don't worry about it. The more confident you are about the way you look the more you will attract dudes.
Maybe... i think not! be honest right.

Im kidding yes i would it is just something as normal as air.
yes ause i use to have acne when i was a teenager and i wouldnt like it if some one didnt like me cause i did but mine wasnt that bad.
if you dont like it, IF, try proactiv, unless it doesn't work,

    and yes i would
Beauty comes from within a self confident human being, m/f it doesn't matter.

    Acne medicines gone bad!!?

i get a presciption acne medication called tretinoin cream and it leaves my skin all red and its pealing idk what to do i want to stop using this cream because my skin is becoming very irritated to it so right now im just using a regular lotion to make the reddness go away, please help me idk what to do should i keep using this medication?Acne medicines gone bad!!?
I would stop using the tretinoin cream and tell your doctor. It's apparently reacting with your skin and you may just need another type of cream. I went to the dermatologist and they put me on differin, tazorac, and duac. Hope this helps. Good luck!!Acne medicines gone bad!!?
Tretinoin is Retin A %26amp; that is known to cause the symptoms you describe. You have a few options: to use it FAR less than you are or to try another formulation. I would talk to your dermatologist; but for now stop using it %26amp; let your skin calm down.
dont keep using it!! go back to your doctor or who ever told you to use it and tell them what has happened, they will give you something else to use.
i think your maybe allergic to it

Why is my acne worse when I am taking the Dr.'s prescription: Differin Gel and Doxycycline (antibiotic)?

Why is my acne worse when I am taking the Dr.'s prescription: Differin Gel and Doxycycline (antibiotic)? I've been popping em every day since I started using the meds; isn't the problem supposed to go away? Why is my acne worse when I am taking the Dr.'s prescription: Differin Gel and Doxycycline (antibiotic)?
I'm no doctor and I'd say listen to your doctor, but if it's not working for you, why continue?

There are so many things that may cause acne and it's different for every person. I heard that even if you're able to pin-point what causes it for you that it can still take a few months before you begin to see improvements. Perhaps you need to wait longer?

For me, what was causing my acne was milk and dairy. I'm a big milk drinker. Once I went off of milk, limiting myself to only cheese and butter, I noticed my acne went down significantly. Some people will say milk is the cause of acne, other people say it isn't. For me personally, it was; however I had to stay on my no-milk diet for several weeks before noticing a difference. Milk contains natural birth hormones that are produced in cows to help with their pregnancy and the growth of the cafe. These hormones add to the already existing teenage adolescent hormones, pushing many teenagers ';over the limit'; and leading to acne. Note that drinking organic milk won't help, because it's the natural hormones in the milk that cause the problem. Organic or non-organic, those natural hormones still exist within the cow's milk.

Bacteria plays a role in acne. I notice that I'd often touch my face a lot, but that this only made it worse. For example, while sitting at a desk reading a book you may be tempted to lean your head in your hand. Your hands have lots of bacteria on them and by doing this that bacteria is transfered to your face and increase your acne. Try to not touch your face AT ALL, save only to clean it, and even then be very gentle and pat your face dry after you get out of the shower or after you clean it. Rubbing at your skin vigorously or doing anything else to irritate it (such as picking at your acne) will only make it worse.

Another piece of advice I have is to use a facial cleanser with 2% benzoyl peroxide. Don't get the 10% kind, it will dry out your face and may cause more acne. Make sure you check the ingredients and that you get the 2% kind. Apply it generously, but gently onto your face. Use facial moisturizer afterward.

Those are some suggestions that have worked for me in the past. Remember:

    1) Reduce your dairy intake

    2) Don't touch your face

    3) Be gentle with your face when cleaning

    4) Use 2% benzoyl peroxide and moisturizer afterwardWhy is my acne worse when I am taking the Dr.'s prescription: Differin Gel and Doxycycline (antibiotic)?
Eventually the problem will go away. But the problem really lies in your diet and family history. If your parents had bad skin, chances are you will too, and it probably won't stop until you're in college. And even in college you will still break out sometimes because life is stressful and stress also causes breakouts.

Try the differin and all of that stuff because it DOES HELP, but stay out of the sun and use sunscreen and don't give up. Try not to use the same thing for too long though because they always seem to lose their strength after awhile.

I liked differin when I was 14, tazarac when I was 16 and proactive when I was 18. Now at 20, I rotate between the proactive and using nothing at all. My skin is still really oily but I stay away from greasy things and I keep my dirty fingers off my face.

But when it comes down to the source, look at your diet. Stay away from fast food, it's full of trans fats and thats the last thing your skin needs. Try to eat naturally, your body will thank you.
the dr.'s prescriptions are strong and may irritate your skin if youre using too much of it. make sure you take the antibiotic regularly, without skipping so your body wont develop immunity to the medicine. when using the gel, try not to use an excessive amount. it could irritate the skin or make it worse. just use pea-sized amounts all over the face. if you seen no improvement after a month or two, let your dr. know. some medicines work for people and some dont. unfortunately, from experience, i know that acne is a difficult thing and takes some time to heal. eating healthily, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep, washing your face twice a day, and staying stress free may also help clear up your acne. i hope this helps you. i wish you the best.
Acne often gets worse before it gets better. If your acne has gotten worse and worse as a result of taking the pills, give your doctor a call and let him know what's going on. If it's a normal reaction and your doctor thinks you'll start to clear up soon, keep using it.

    Hang in there!
My derm prescription didnt start working until 4 months, and I was told it had to get worse before it got better, because everything she put me on, including the topicals brought out all the blemishes I had, then cleared it up.
you need to call your doctor and tell him or her that so you can get something dofferent for your acne. Using that gel is probably causing a reaction and the reaction just so happens to give you more pimples.
often times when you use new meds, they take time to start taking effect. since the weakest germs die first, the ones that cause acne are able to take a stronger hold. in a few weeks the meds should help clear up, if not talk with your dr.
How long have you been taking them?

It usually starts to heal after about 3 months, but before that it will unfortunately flare up.

From someone who's been through it all, believe me it's worth it.
it's not just the medicine that makes it better...you have to watch what you eat and not drink a lot of caffine or else it'll just get worse and dont touch or pick at your face

Hey guys.i need help with my acne(seriously).i always scratch my face bcos i cant stand acne,i have bad spots.

    Acne diet

Acne : Home Remedies suggested by users

    All-fruit Acne diet

To begin with, the patient should take only an 'all-fruit' diet for a week, taking three meals a day, of fresh juicy fruits, such as apples, pears, grapes, grapefruit, pineapples, and peaches. Only unsweetened lemon or plain water, either hot or cold, should be drunk and nothing else.

    Well-balanced Acne diet

After the one-week, all-fruit diet, the patient can gradually adopt a well-balanced diet with emphasis on raw foods, especially fresh fruit and vegetables, sprouted seeds, raw nuts, and wholegrain cereals, particularly millet and brown rice. Further short periods of the 'all-fruit' diet for three days or so may be necessary at a monthly interval till the skin's condition improves.

Avoid strong tea/coffee, soft drinks and processed foods

Meats, sugar, strong tea or coffee, condiments, pickles, soft drinks, candies, ice cream, refined and processed foods should be avoided as far as possible.

    Other Acne natural treatments

    Warm-water enema

The patient should remain in the bath tub for 25-35 minutes till he sweats freely. After the bath, the patient should cool off graduallyHey guys.i need help with my acne(seriously).i always scratch my face bcos i cant stand acne,i have bad spots.
Truly, I also have a bit of a problem with acne. The main reason it stays is because you are scratching your face. The oils on your hand are clogging your pores further, making acne worse instead of better. Try washing your hands more often, especially after greasy foods like pizza, and especially after chocolates and candies and vanilla products. These contain nasty oils that make skin really bad. Also, make sure to wash your face every day if you can, as oil secretes naturally from pores with exercise, sweat, and just by living everyday life. Using anti-acne medication can also do wonders; stuff like Clearasil and Proactive and Clean and Clear really work.

Hope I helped.Hey guys.i need help with my acne(seriously).i always scratch my face bcos i cant stand acne,i have bad spots.
yeah just experiment with a buncha face soap and stuff... to see which is best for you..

also like JV said, stay away from junk foods.. fries, chocolate, etc...

    AND

a big help is to drink LOTS of WATER. everyday. 8 glasses. seriously. it'll clean out ur system.

also don't touch ur face too much.
DONT SCRATCH!!! trust me that is making it worse. you need to wash your face twice a day or if you can your best bet is to get proactiv. +drink tons of water and eat a balanced diet, excersice can help sometimes, too.
If non of the store bought products are working, it simply means that your acne is a hormonal issue unlike just a dirty face. Birth control can level your hormones.
Try pure aloe vera gel and stay away from greasy rich foods!
Order yourself a Proactive starter kit. I've seen it work, it's fantastic!

I thought birth control was supposed to make your acne subside. Mines getting worse?

I just started taking birth control a week and a half ago. I thought that when you start taking birth control your acne was supposed to go away. But my face has broken out more than it ever has in my entire life. And the pimples just keep coming. Is it just a beginning effect? Will this go away?I thought birth control was supposed to make your acne subside. Mines getting worse?
it really depends. Keep using it for a couple of months and if it still doesnt go away then you better change your brand.

When i started i noticed no changes. Then some times my face glows and not a spot in sight then some come back.

Its wierd. But like i said see what happens in a couple of months. Watch out for your weight too. If you start picking up weight change ASAP.

I take Yasmin.I thought birth control was supposed to make your acne subside. Mines getting worse?
I've had the same thing and it's soo annoying. I had perfect skin before i went on the pill and as son as i went on my first one i got about 20 spots... and now i've got scars!... as well as other side-effects like absolutely no discharge.

Anyway, just like the ill can make your skin beter, obviously it can go the other way. I think its because you need pill with more oestrogen in it. After trying out 4 or 5 pills, increasing in oestrogen i've ended up with the highest pill (for estrogen) called Diannete. Actually it's meant to be an acne treatment but has a side effect of birth control. The downside is that it has a slightly higher risk of blood clots and one or two other things, but it's made my skin back to normal, and it's amazing. I maybe only get one spot a month, and that's a tiny one. My doctor said the increase risk are really honestly nothing to worry about.

I would wait for a couple more weeks and if it doesn't subside, ask to change. My first doctor wouldn't let me and gave me acne cream (which was wrong because it was obviously because the hormones) and i had to wait for 3 months before i could change!! I couldn't take having 20 spots constantly so after 2 and a half months of hell i changed doctors. They let me choose whatever pill i want to try and if i'm ever unhappy she'll change me. My advise is to go to the doctors in a couple of weeks if it's not better and ask to change. If your not happy and they want you to stick to it for a while, ask for another doctor.... not changing soon enough has left me with scars.

Sorry about your acne, I've had it bad in the past too. What works for me isn't really expensive. When you just have an occasional pimple here or there, put toothpaste on it overnight. You'd be surprised how much that works. To get rid of breakouts, I suggest washing your face morning and night with Galderma face wash. Make sure to use moisturizing lotion after you wash your face. Other remedies that work for me are yogurt and oatmeal. If none of that works, your dermatologist could prescribe you something that should get rid of it in a month or so. Check the link below, it'll help you. Hope this helped! :)Horrible acne! Need help bad!?
The best solution would be to go to a dermatologist but I've heard they were very pricey. I guess you should look in the yellowpapers and online for a dermatologist near you that has good reviews and such.

I've had acne problems since I was 12. I started using Clearasil Ultra Pads because the regular one doesn't work. It helps me with breakouts a lot. And I started using Clinique 3 steps face cleansing stuffs.. It's basically, a soap-like thing, a toner, and moisturizer that you use twice a day and it has helped me dramatically. I only get pimples once every few months or so because of the weather and such. Also, washing you face daily helps and eating lots of fruits and drinking lots of water..(LOTS OF WATER) helps also. =]
You dont have to see a dermatologist. All you need is to see your regular doctor. They can perscribe you with medication to solve the problem. My family doctor gave me topical erythromycin and retin-a and my skin has gone from horrible to almost perfect.
I don't know if you have tried pro active, but if you do, give it a little time, and it should work. I know it worked for me :)
