I have really bad skin and my back is also ravaged by acne. Help!?

I've tried loads of different moisturisers, cleansers and creams to fix it. Foundation etc won't cover it either. The spots on my back ruined by prom night cos I was worried about anyone seeing them. Any solutions?I have really bad skin and my back is also ravaged by acne. Help!?
i've developed exactly the same problem recently and man is it depressing :( i went straight to my doctor and she's put me on oxytetracycline tablets- apparently they're guaranteed to help, try them- they get rid of the root cause of the problem rather than just from the surface as all these cleansers etc. do. good luck! :)I have really bad skin and my back is also ravaged by acne. Help!?
It depends on what kind of acne you have. If you have cysts or nodules (big deep bumps as opposed to little red dots), consult your Dermatologist.

Again, depending on the severity, they will probably start you off with a topical cream or gel such as Differin and possibly pair it with a sulfur-based cream like Rosac. Stinks, but works if your breakout is minor.

If it's an intermediate breakout, they may prescribe Retin-A and a water based moisturizer.

IMPORTANT: If it's cystic and severe, Accutane is an option but be forewarned: it must be an extremely severe case, and it will require multiple visits and blood tests (yes, needles), and there are MAJOR side effects. You will be put on birth control, whether you're sexually active or not, because if there's any chance of getting pregnant there's serious, SERIOUS, life-threatening risk. Not to mention the side-effects and yes, I can say this from personal experience.

Your lips will be more chapped than you can ever possibly imagine. Your hair will thin and you'll notice large clumps of it falling off after shampooing. Your eyes will dry, and you can NOT be in the sun if on Accutane. Beyond that, they're are internal side effects as well. Liver damage, heart palpitations, extreme depression. There are MANY known instances where people have committed suicide. Not trying to scare you, but it's the facts. Trust me girl, unless you're absolutely desperate and have tried everything else possible - this is not an option to consider lightly. I finally had to get off of it because the side effects were so severe. Do your research.

The best thing that worked for me: Proactiv. Yep, it's true. I'm 30 years old and have suffered from acne since age 12. I've tried everything imaginable. My mom found it in a mall somewhere and bought it - just to see. Can't hurt, right? Well, and this is no exaggeration, I could see a difference after the VERY FIRST NIGHT. I've now been using it for a year and a half and I will NEVER use anything else. Additionally, my entire family uses it now, as well as most of my friends. Please consider it. Disregard the spokespersons and how much money they're making off it advertising it and try it. If you don't like it or it doesn't work for you, then lesson-learned. Good luck!!
I have the same problem. Ive been using acne free, and it starts working the moment u use it.
If you鈥檙e looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne鈥?prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it鈥檚 advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

If the condition is ruining your social life it may be having a sub-clinical effect on your mental well-being. I suggest that you visit a clinician and take advise on medical treatments for acne.

With a proper diet and medical treatment I have seen acne miraculously disappear.
Garlic is really good for your skin, aloe vera, oats are all brilliant for your skin. Zinc and Iron tablets might help as well
Have you tried prayer?
Are you washing you face morning and night?...Are you using hair sprays or other hair products?.....My face and back broke out until i stopped using hairspray. I wash my face morning and night with Johnson baby wash and only use Baby lotion on my face
lots of vitamin A - Do be very careful about overdose- it can be seriously hazardous

Beta-carotene capsules are a safer choice they allow your body to convert it to Vit A as needed, making the risk of overdose and harm to your liver less.

Green clay masques often - such as Queene Helene Mint Julep

mask - available at drugstores/discount stores. absolutely excellent and only about $4/tube Avail online at the company website also.

I use Dial clear glycerine bar with vits A %26amp; E - it is gentler on my skin than the regular Dial. I use it with a very soft brush like a boar bristle nail brush or a baby hair brush---use often.

I also use Kirk's castille soap - no animal products, pure soap. avail at many grocery stores, near the big mega corp brands, in white paper wrappers. Excellent stuff at only about $1/bar. also avail at the company website online.
Accutane!

I used to have very bad acne until I was in my early 30's and contrary to what most doctors were saying to me, my acne didn't show signs of stopping. So I went to a dermatologist and he gave me a one month perscription of it and my acne actually got worse, but once the perscription ran out and I stopped taking it my acne was totally eliminated and my skin was actually somewhat smooth. I should warn you though, this is some serious medication, so don't mix this stuff with alcohol or become pregnant.

Oh. And it was about $15 a pill for me, so be warned, it ain't cheap.
Talk to your dermatologist about using Accutane- it's very powerful and somewhat toxic but it can clear up bad acne permanently.

You cannot get pregnant while using it...
Go and see your GP, they will perscribe you with cream for severe acne.

Also, Foundation will only worsen your spots because you aren't allowing your skin to breath.

I know its difficult and you have your appearence to think off but try to go without make-up for a while.

If you can get a tan, this will help to conceal the scars on your back and face.

All the best.
Try Nature's Cure (there's a formula for back acne too). My son used it and within two weeks he started to see good results (after a month the results were great, not perfect, but his skin looked great). He had tried just about everything but a prescription drug until he tried this just for the heck of it... Go to: http://www.naturescure.com
Go and see ur doctor i went with my acne as it was scarring me and he put me on this drug that after 3 months really helped, i ahd every side affect going but it was worth it as it cleared my skin up and it hasnt come back as bad.

If you want a quick solution try an antibacterial body wash, exfoliate or get a fake tan and that may reduce apperance.
Vitamin B5 is a cheap, safe effective therapy that works for the majority of people.

Google ';acne'; and ';B5'; or ';pantothenic acid'; and find one of several dozen sites the give you info and a cheap source of B5.
Oxytetracycline is suberb, it is very expensive and has some worrying side effects. Most doctors will try antibiotics first because of this, but dont suffer in silence , there is no need to have acne nowadays
Use the same acne fighting stuff you would use on your face, except for use it on your back. Make sure to exfoliate your back in the shower with a loofah sponge - that should help.
