Why does acne get worse before it gets better?

i just got prescribed minocycline for my acne and my doctor advised that it may get worse before it gets better. why will it get worse first? what causes this?Why does acne get worse before it gets better?

Acne medicines are not the way to go. They must be used for life or else your acne will be worse than it is. Change your diet, stop touching your face and keep it clean. Cut out the alcohol, fatty foods, and sugary drinks and foods and you'll be good to go. Take pictures weekly and you'll be acne free. I would also exercise to help you sweat which keeps your pores clean. You don't need any special soaps. Just change your pillowcase frequently.
