Why do your acne get worse if you stop using proactiv?

i have heard that its because the proactiv products just keep your skin on the edge from breaking out, and all the bateria are underneath that once you stop, you won't have the ';protection of breaking out'; and they will all come out. Why do your acne get worse if you stop using proactiv?
This is ridiculous. Do you really thing that? First, how can any cleanser leave bacteria behind? Any amount of soap you put to your skin and rub for 30 seconds will remove bacteria. I'm not saying it's going to be sterile, but most of the bacteria will be removed. Nothing will ';keep your skin on the edge of breaking out';; the product will either work or it won't. I would LOVE to know where you got this info from. Why do your acne get worse if you stop using proactiv?
there is a medical debate that acne is a skin 'disease' or not but you can think about that for yourself. puss filled pores?? i think so, its a natural way of responding to an infection. proactive has harsh chemicals which dry the sebum (oil) which is the acne's food, thus starving it and also killing them. when you stop using it, an overload of oil is released because your skin is too dry and no harsh chemicals to kill the ones on the surface. best way is to use water to clean and moisturise, even though moisturising is seen as bad for oily skin, over time it reverses acne! if you want to talk more about it then ask another question lol
I seriosly don't know! I used to use it but when I stopped I kind of started to break out. So now I just use apricot scrub. It helps my skin alot and if I stopped my skin wouldn't begin to break out.
